Isn’t this fantastic? I wish I knew where this photo came from. I love this look. It’s so whimsical.

I went to Sephora last night and did a little shopping. I got some new Bare Minerals - this time in Light (which has a yellower base to it) and Medium (cooler toned) instead of my usual Fairly Light. In spite of my very best efforts, the sun does reach me occasionally though, and as a result, I’m a little darker than I once was.

I took a break from Bare Minerals a while ago, but for some reason, I’m not sure why. I think it had to do with the mess factor. I started using Revlon’s One-Step Compact Makeup, which I really liked because it was lightweight, and it didn’t smell or break me out, and it blended really nicely. It actually sparked a mini-love affair with Revlon for a little bit there. But lately, my skin has been so dry, and a foundation that dries to a powder is not ideal for dry skin. I don’t want to look powdery and flakey! So then, I’ve been using Chanel Vitalumiere, which I adore - so moisturizing, and it blends like a dream without any streaks. Plus, I love that it doesn’t look like I’m wearing makeup. But, it’s expensive, and I like to save the “good stuff” for special occasions, so I don’t like to use it everyday. Then, I was reading Jolie Nadine, and she is constantly professing her love for Bare Minerals - she was even in one of their ads! So I decided to give it another try, and it all came back to me. People used to stop me and compliment me on my skin, and it’s no wonder. Bare Minerals rocks my socks. I don’t know why I ever left it. I forget how nicely it buffs in (I use the handy buki brush), and then how, twenty minutes later you look in the mirror, and it’s melted in, and you have PERFECT skin.
Anyway, the whole point of this long and protracted story is that I rekindled the Bare Minerals romance, and promptly ran out of it. So I had to go to Sephora to get more. While I was there, I picked up a Laura Mercier cream shadow in Burnished Copper - which I’m kind of regretting. It’s just a little too red for me. I guess I’ll have to go back to Sephora. Bummer.

I also picked up a bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Her - it’s a scent that my roommate in New York wore, and it always reminds me of getting dressed up to go out. It has a muskiness that is similar to SJP’s Lovely, which I also have, but it’s a little more accessible.

So, that’s my haul. I’m sorry I haven’t written more on this blog - it’s ridiculous how bad I’ve been about blogging. But I’ve been doing the South Beach diet, and my energy levels have totally spiked back up to normal, and I am getting things done right and left. (I’ve also lost 5 pounds since last Friday - yay!)
